Stay busy doing what you love.

Central to CityFirst’s mission is business development. CityFirst’s focus is providing customized financing opportunities for affordable housing developers and investors, small businesses, and community serving nonprofits.  We make financing more accessible for qualifying minority-owned organizations. We’ve helped thousands of enterprises with loans, partnering with companies that otherwise have limited financial strength.

We grow with you, arranging your financing, offering Standby Letters of Credit, and paving pathways for Small Business Administration guarantees. Our full range of services includes lines of credit for working capital, term loans for inventory or equipment, commercial real estate loans for purchase and leasehold improvements, leveraged source loans, and green lending with the Property Assessed Clean Energy program.

    Nonprofit

We serve nonprofits that are primarily seeking to purchase commercial real estate. Most of our nonprofit customers are developing or expanding owner-occupied community facilities, from which they provide services to urban minority-majority and low-income communities. These include health care facilities, charter schools, arts centers and other social services facilities.

    PACE Green Lending

We innovate lending with the Department of Energy’s Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) program to improve your property’s energy efficiency and value. The PACE program facilitates covering the up-front costs of energy or other eligible improvements on a property that are paid back over time through a voluntary assessment that’s attached to the property, instead of the property owner! Through our current DC PACE partnership with DC Green Bank, we’ve supported nonprofits in reducing their utility costs and can finance such projects as new HVAC systems and building controls, energy-efficient windows, insulation and weather-proofing, water heaters, lighting systems, and/or solar panels.
