Allen Firouz is a visionary executive and a recognized thought-leader in Cloud Computing who has led the adoption of transformational technologies by public and private sector institutions as strategic imperatives. Firouz currently serves as the Chief Information Officer & Chief Information Security Officer at City First Bank, the nation’s largest black-owned bank, where he drives the vision and strategic direction of the bank’s technology initiatives. Firouz has over 25 years of technology leadership experience and founded several successful tech start-ups. Prior to joining City First Bank, Firouz was the Founder and CEO of one of the very first cloud startups in the world, pioneering innovative systems and services that were used globally, and more recently served as the Chief Architect for the U.S. Department of State as well as the U.S. Department of Justice where he led their modernization initiatives and shaped their cloud adoption strategies.
As CIO of City First Bank, Firouz is focused on delivering technology strategy, infrastructure, and information security. He sees community banks as a force of economic justice in reducing the wealth gap for the underbanked or unbanked in the middle and lower-income communities that the bank serves. Allen Firouz holds a PhD in Philosophy, a BS in Organic Chemistry, and is working on completing his Executive MBA.
